Email Setup Guide - Outlook 2000 (Corporate mode) for the PC - POP3

This guide is intended for users running Microsoft Outlook 2000 in Corporate Mode only. Please refer to steps 1 and 2 for further details.

To begin open Outlook 2000
 
1)Click the 'Tools' menu
2)Select 'Services'. (Note: If you see 'Accounts' instead of services Outlook 2000 is in Internet mode and you should not continue with this guide. Please return to the main page and select the Outlook 2000 POP3 or IMAP guide).

3)In the middle of the screen you will see a list of accounts that have already been setup in Outlook 2000. If you see an account you can safely remove it. (This will NOT delete any email from your account).
4)Click the [Add] button to continue.

5)Select 'Internet E-Mail'.
6)Click [OK] to continue.

7)Ensure the 'General' tab is selected.
8)Enter 'mail.imageway.com' for the server name.
9)Enter your name as you would like it to appear in outgoing email messages.
10)Enter your email address.

11)Select the 'Servers' tab.
12)Enter 'mail.imageway.com' as the Incoming Mail server (POP3)
13)Enter 'smtp.imageway.com' as the Outgoing Mail server (SMTP)
14)Enter your 'email address & password'. The 'Remember password' tick box is optional.
15)Tick the check box next to 'My server requires authenication'.
16)Click the [Settings] button. (Another dialog box will appear as shown above).
17)Ensure there is a dot next to 'Use the same settings as my incoming mail server' (this should be selected by default).
18)Click the [OK] button.

NOTE: usernames and passwords are cAse SensITiVe.

19)Select the 'Connection' tab.
20)Select 'Connect using my local area network (LAN)'. It is advisable to choose this option even if you connect to the Internet using a dialup connection.
21)Click [OK] to continue.

22)The mail account you have created will be displayed as 'mail.imageway.com'.
23)Click [OK] to continue.

24) By default Outlook 2000 will put an icon in the Outlook Shortcuts. This will only display your inbox & will not show all folders on the mail server. To display all your mail folders you will need to turn on 'Folder List' view. 25) Select 'View' from the tools menu.
26)Select 'Folders List'.

27) You folders should now be visible as shown above.
