If you're using Norton Anti-Virus (NAV) 2002/2003 please disable outgoing mail scanning before completing this guide.

    1)Click the 'Tools' menu.
    2)Select 'Options'.

    3)Select 'Sending Mail'.
    4)Tick 'Allow authentication'.
    5)Under 'Secure Sockets when sending'
6)Select the option to 'Required, STARTTLS'
7)Click the [OK] button to close the options dialog box.

Setting up Eudora to use the certificate

For Eudora to use the certificate you will need to send a simple test email to yourself. This process is necessary and will cause the test mail to fail. This is normal and always occurs the first time you use Secure SMTP.

1)Send a test email to yourself. Address the email to yourself, put 'Test' in the subject line and click the 'Send' button.

2)An error message will appear as shown above.
    3)Select the 'Tools' menu.
    4)Select 'Options'.

    5)Select 'Sending Mail'.
6)Click the 'Last SSL Info' button.

7)A 'Eudora SSL Connection Information' box will appear.
8)Click the 'Certificate Information Manager' button.
9)Select the certificate under 'Server Certificates'.
10)Information about the certificate will be displayed.
11)Click the 'Add to Trusted' button.
12)The Certificate will be installed under 'User Trusted Certificates'
    13)click the [Done] button.
    14)Click the [OK] button.

Click [OK] to close the options window.

You will now need to send the test message again...

Open your outbox, right click the test message and select 'Send Immediately'. If the message sends without error you have setup Secure SMTP successfully.
